[Ferro-Alloys.com]Eramet Manganese’s manganese ore and sinter production fell 6.5% in the third quarter to 838,600 mt from the same 2011 period (896,500 mt) and were down 16.6% to 2,150,400 mt for the first nine months of 2012. External shipments of manganese ore and sinter decreased 17.5% over the first nine months of 2012 compared with 2011 and 2% in the third quarter of 2012 compared with the same period in 2011.
 
The company blamed logistical problems for the drop in output. COMILOG received five new locomotives at end of the third quarter of 2012 and will receive 50 new wagons over the next three months.
 
Manganese alloy production was 189,800 mt in the third quarter while sales were 177,200 mt vs. 198,000 mt and 199,100 mt, in the same 2011 period. Output in the first nine months of 2012 was 544,000 mt and sales were 543,300 mt vs. 612,000 mt and 610,300 mt, respectively, in the same 2011 period.
 
The manganese unit had turnover of USD380-million in the third quarter vs. USD379-million in the second quarter and USD398-million year-on-year.
