It’s reported that Japan’s Tokyo Steel announced to raise its domestic prices for most of its steel products by ¥2,000/ton for October contracts, supported by further confidence in the country’s construction steel market.
The company only remained the prices for hot dipped galvanized coils, rebar and square hollow section unchanged.
Kiyoshi Imamura, the marketing director of Tokyo Steel pointed out that the market is ready to accept price hike.
After the adjustment, its prices for SS400 senior-sized H-beams are at ¥76,000/ton; that for SPHC hot rolled coils with thickness of 1.7mm-22mm are at ¥64,000/ton and that for SS400 plates with thickness of 9mm-40mm are at ¥71,000/ton.
