Thailand Decides to Impose Safeguard Duty on Alloy HR Flats till 2016

Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce announced official that they will keep imposing the import duties on the imports of alloy hot rolled coil, sheet and plate till February 2016.
 
It’s known that the safeguard duty of 44.2% of CIF value was firmed on any imports during the period of September 16th to February 26th next year.
 
Thus, a duty of 43.57% will apply on imports during February 27th, 2014–February 26th, 2015 and 42.95% during February 27th, 2015–February 26th, 2016.
 
The hot rolled flats which contain alloy elements including like boron and chromium and classified under customs tariff codes 7225 and 7226 are suitable the duties.
 
The safeguard duty of 33.11%, imposed on the imports effective February 27th, 2013, and it was ended on September 15th, according to the government’s report.
 
Various product categories are exempt from the safeguard measure according to the government’s new announcement.
