[Ferro-alloys.com] Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has announced that its subsidiary Baoyin Special Steel has signed a supply contract with Guangzhou-based Dongfang Heavy Machinery Co. worth over RMB 200 million ($32.7 million).

Accordingly, Baoyin Special Steel will supply 690U tubes at a price of RMB 1 million/mt ($163,399/mt) for application in an evaporator in a nuclear power plant project. Zhejiang Province-based Jiuli Special Material Technology Co., the other steel producer in China capable of producing thetubes in question, will also supply 690U tubes for the project.

Founded in 2004, Dongfang Heavy Machinery is a manufacturer of large and complex components for nuclear power generation and petrochemical plants.Its parent company is Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC).
