[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to the data from the port authority, iron ore shipments in June to China from Australia’s Port Hedland dropped by 7.6% from May.
The total shipments to China totaled 16.09 million tons from 17.42 million tons in May. However, the figure was still up by 16% from the same period last year.
Port Hedland’s iron ore shipments were 21.51 million tons, also lower than 22.5 million tons in May but higher than 20.7 million tons In April. For this second quarter, it hit the highest for the record.
Among them, the shipments to Japan were 2.51 million tons in June, falling from 2.73 million tons in May; that to South Korea were 1.9 million tons, higher than 1.8 million tons in May.
