Ferro-alloys.com:According to data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute on February 15, the U.S. raw steel capacity utilization rate reached its highest level in 11 months last week.

The utilization rate of raw steel capacity rose to 76.9% from 75.2% last week.

Data show that in the week ending February 13, production increased by 2.2% from 1.705 million stones in the previous week to 1.743 million stones.

Last week's output was still down 5.5% from the same period last year, the capacity utilization rate was 81.5%, and the total output was 1.844 million stone.

As of February 13, the adjusted annual production volume was 108.08 million stone, and the capacity utilization rate was 75.9%. The total output was down by 8.7% compared with the 1,183,700 stone in the same period last year, when the utilization rate was 82.2%.

Last week, the total output of the Northeast region was 155,000 tons; the Great Lakes region was 599,000 stones; the Midwest was 189,000 stones; the southern region was 725,000 stones; and the western region was 75,000 stones.

The tonnage data is compiled based on the weekly production data provided by 50% of domestic producers and the monthly production data of the remaining producers.
