[Ferro-alloys.com] During the period from June to August, ferrosilicon prices enjoyed continuously slight increases in China and gradually became steady in September. By the end of early part of late September, the highest FeSi75# quotations basically stopped at RMB6,000/mt(USD977/mt) and FeSi72# stopped at RMB5,700/mt(USD929/mt) in main production regions, export duty not included and ex-work tax-inclusive price by acceptance.
In terms of production in main regions, large and medium-sized Gansu-based ferrosilicon producers had normal production, there were gradual operation of newly built, expansion and technically reformed projects in Ningxia and Inner Mongolia.
By the end of mid September, Shandong Steel Group and Kunming Iron & Steel Holding Co., Ltd had launched bids for October ferrosilicon. At the beginning of late September, much focused Shagang Group launched bids for flat volumes of 5,300 mt of ferrosilicon for October delivery. Flat purchase volumes and declining steel prices were expected to curb further increases of ferrosilicon prices.
