[Ferro-alloys.com] As August was soon past, many major steel mills gradually released bids for ferrosilicon for September delivery. In terms of purchase volumes, some kept flat volumes and others were seen with slight decreases. However, flat volumes were the major trend. Editor of www.ferro-alloys.com learnt these large producers kept normal operation rate, with around two to three thousand tons in warehouses. While small and medium-sized producers had few spot materials at the moment.
HBIS-one of the major ferrosilicon consumers, would purchase around 4,200 tons for September delivery and its initial inquiry price was RMB5,990/mt, delivered tax-inclusive price by acceptance, which was flat with August purchase price. In the opinion of some large producers, they expressed spot supply of ferrosilicon was still very tight on the market and steel mills were expected to slightly increase September purchase prices.
