JSW Steel Dec Crude Steel Production Grew By 45%

JSW Steel Ltd. reported crude steel production of 1.05 million tonnes, up by 45 percent from the 0.73 million tonnes in December 2012.
 
During the month, Rolled Products-Flat stood at 0.87 million tonnes, compared with 0.61 million tonnes in December 2012, registering a growth of around 42 percent, while that of Rolled Products-Long was 0.15 million tonnes, flat from last year's 0.15 million tonnes.
 
The company posted third-quarter crude steel production of 3.19 million tonnes, up by 52 percent from the 2.09 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year.
 
During the period, Rolled Products-Flat stood at 2.57 million tonnes, compared with 1.57 million tonnes in October-December 2012 period, an increase of 64 percent, while that of Rolled Products-Long declined by nine percent to 0.44 million tonnes from the 0.48 million tonnes for the three months ended December 31, 2012.
 
In the first nine months, the company achieved crude steel production of 9.03 million tonnes, up by 41 percent from the 6.41 million tonnes lakh tones in the corresponding period of last year
 
During the nine-month period, production of Rolled Products-Flat totaled 7.26 million tonnes, higher by 57 percent than the 4.63 million tonnes April-December 2012 period, while that of Rolled Products-Long fell by one to 1.35 million tonnes from the 1.36 million tonnes for the nine months ended December 31, 2012.
