Glencore acquired the remaining 14.5% interest in Mutanda Mining Sarl for $430-million, which was originally held by High Grade Minerals. With the acquisition, Glencore has taken its stake to 69%. Mutanda, a high-grade copper and cobalt producer in the Congolese province of Katanga, has a copper production rate of 190,000 mt per year. The remaining 31% equity in Mutanda is held by a subsidiary of Fleurette Properties Ltd.
