He said Hebei must speed up the development of environmental protection industry and make it the new engine of transformation and upgrading.
Governor Zhang point out that Hebei must speed up the adjustment of industrial structure, strengthen planning & policy guidance, eliminate overcapacity resolutely and accelerate the introduction of strategic plans on emerging industries. Superior industries that comply with the requirements of energy conservation & environmental protection should be boosted and local government should improve the quality and efficiency of economic growth. Atmospheric pollution control measures must be implemented earnestly while atmospheric environmental quality must be improved. Development of service industry should be taken as strategic measure in structural adjustment and its contribution rate on economic growth must be elevated.
