Australian Port of Newcastle’s Coal Exports Rise

According to data released by the Newcastle Port Corporation, coal shipments made from the Port of Newcastle totaled 3.19 million tons in the week ended on October 14th, rising by 6.5% from a week ago.
 
In October 1-14 period, the Port of Newcastle’s exports of thermal and coking coal amounted to 5.62 million tons.
 
Meanwhile, the largest exporters to ship from the Port of Newcastle are Anglo American, Peabody Energy, Rio Tinto and Xstrata.
