The cobalt market has started to slide as demand has been on a slowdown over the past week .Prices are currently at $13.50-14 per lb for Co 99.8% material, compared to $14-14.50 per lb. Many sources noted that the market was trending lower as few were able to confirm spot business. “There are a few inquiries,” said a source, “but most of the chatter is about next year’s contracts.” Others speculated that there could be some price erosion in the near-term as sales become competitive. “I am just trying to maintain business because everyone seems to be covered right now,” commented a seller.
