[ferro-alloys.com] BOSSES at Scunthorpe auction firm CJM Asset Management are considering offers made for sections of the former bloom and billet mill on the town's TATA Steel works.

The deadline for offers passed last week, although the company said it would still consider late expressions of interest.

CJM was instructed to market the mill in November last year after it closed in October 2011. After it failed to sell as a whole, the firm changed its approach earlier this summer, inviting offers to buy sections of the mill separately.

Mr Charles Moses MD at CJM said that "We have got some offers and we are working with them at the moment. They are receiving consideration and maybe further negotiation will be necessary. We have got some offers for various parts of it and there has been late interest as well.”

He added that "There has definitely been interest from various parts of the world and we are just trying to go along with exploring that."
