Japan’s scrap exports totaled 6 million tons in the first eight months of this year, rising by 8.5% year on year, according to data released by the country’s Ministry of Finance.
In the given period of time, Korea was the largest importer of the Japanese scraps with 3.5 million tons, rising by 7.2%; China was the second largest one with 1.83 million tons, falling by 6.2% and Vietnam was the third largest one with 358,107 tons, jumping by 126%, all in comparison of the figures in the same period of a year ago.
In August, Japan’s scrap exports totaled 643,273 tons, rising by 7.5% from a month but falling by 11.4% year on year.
