AK Steel Hikes Carbon Steel Flats Prices

It’s reported that AK Steel announced to increase its prices for carbon steel flat products on October 1st and the price rise has become effective immediately.
 
After the adjustment, its prices for hot rolled steel products are at US$680/short ton; those for cold rolled steel products are at US$790/short ton and those for hot dipped galvanized steel products are at US$810/short ton.
 
Meanwhile, it’s said that certain buyers have started to purchase for next year, which may boost the market demand.
