PrintIt is learned that Brazil’s foreign trade body CAMEX will impose anti-dumping duty against steel plate imports from China, South Africa, South Korea and Ukraine for 5 years.
According to Carlos Loureiro, president of Brazil’s National Institute of Steel Distributors, such policy will affect around 10% of the total purchase volume of the country.
The decision was made after a request of Usiminas, the largest flat steel producer in Brazil, to Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade in December 2011.
The investigation of this request also included products from Australia and Russia.
