According to data, Japan’s exports of stainless steel products totaled 91,448 tons in August, falling by 5.3% year on year.
The country’s export prices of stainless steel products averaged at US$3,945/ton in August, down by 2.7% year on year.
In August, the exports made to China decreased by 16.6%; those to Korea rose by 3.5%; those to Taiwan increased by 3.5%, all compared to the figures in the same month of 2012.
Meanwhile, Japan’s imports of stainless steel products totaled 19,290 tons in August, increasing by 14.8% year on year. The import prices averaged at US$3,091.55/ton, falling by 4% year on year.
