[ferro-alloys.com] Statistics from CRU showed global stainless steel output proved to be 34.2 million tonnes in 2012, an increase of 2.5% over prior year. That in Western Europe and America presented negative growth.

According to Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association, China’s crude stainless steel output in 2012 hit 16.087 million tonnes, up 14.17% or 1.996 million tonnes over the same period last year.

In the first half 2013, stainless crude steel output increased by 9.63% to 8.8182 million tonnes, while the growth in capacity kept a gradual decline.

Stainless steel output growth in 2006 increased by 67.72% to 5.3 million tonnes and since then the growth kept drop year after year.
