Colombia Decides to Impose a Temporary Import Duty on Wire Rod

It’s known that the Colombian government started the investigation of the imports several years ago. The imports from the certain countries reached a high level in 2012.
 
Among the total import volume, Mexico occupied 49.98%, Trinidad and Tobago reached 22.81%, Brazil held 9.43% and Venezuela was 9.46%. The duties for these countries are 21.29%.
 
The new measure will be effective from late September.
 
Meanwhile, the imports from the US and Canada were excluded this time.
 
Therefore, they do not constitute a substantial cause of serious injury determined in this investigation, according to the WTO documents.
