According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s coking coal imports totaled 2.76 million tons in July, soaring by 34% from 2.08 million tons in the same month of 2012 but slumping by 28% from a month ago.
In July, Russia was the largest exporter of coking coal to Turkey with 952,612 tons; Colombia was the second largest one with 786,536 tons and the US was the third largest one with 471,498 tons.
In the first seven months of this year, the country’s coking coal imports amounted to 25.6 million tons, jumping by 41% year on year.
