Australian Newcastle Port’s Coal Exports Fall

According to data of Newcastle Port Corporation, coal shipments made from the Port of Newcastle totaled 2.92 million tons in the week ended on September 23rd, down by 3% from a week ago.
 
In the period of September 1-23, the Port of Newcastle’s exports of thermal and coking coals totaled 8.87 million tons.
 
Meanwhile, the larger exporters to ship coal from the Port of Newcastle are Anglo American, Peabody Energy, Rio Tinto and Xstrata.
