Australian Newcastle’s Coal Exports Rise

According to data released by Newcastle Port Corporation, the coal shipments made from the Port of Newcastle totaled 3.01 million tons in the week ended on September 16th, rising by 27.3% from a week ago.
 
In the period of September 1st-16th, the Port of Newcastle exported 5.95 million tons of thermal and coking coals.
 
Meanwhile, the larger exporters to ship coal from the Port of Newcastle are Anglo American, Peabody Energy, Rio Tinto and Xstrata.
