According to statistics, Japan’s exports of heavy plates totaled 275,597 tons in July, down by 1.6% from a month ago and slumping by 23.2% year on year.
The country’s export prices of heavy plates averaged at US$646.3/ton FOB in July, falling by 7.5% from June and decreasing by 15.6% year on year.
In July, Korea was the largest importer of the Japanese heavy plates with 94,956 tons, soaring by 21.2% month on month but slumping by 45.9% year on year. The average export prices were at US$654.3/ton FOB, decreasing by 8.2% from a month earlier and falling by 14.7% year on year.
