According to data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance, the country’s stainless steel output totaled 239,450 tons in July, falling by 4.1% month on month and down by 0.5% year on year.
Among them, 122,745 tons were chrome-based stainless steel, down by 0.9%; 116,705 tons were nickel-based stainless steel, decreasing by 7.3%, both compared to the figures in a month ago.
At end of July, the stainless steel stocks owned by the Japanese steelmakers totaled 121,265 tons, down by 2.1% from a month ago.
