Turkey’s crude steel output totaled 2.58 million tons in August, falling by 8.7% from a month ago and decreasing by 15.4% year on year, according to data released by Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
In August, the country’s crude steel production via blast furnace (BF) totaled 592,000 tons, down by 7% from July and slumping by 30.2% year on year. The crude steel output via electric arc furnace (EAF) was at 1.98 million tons, down by 9.7% year on year and dropping by 9.2% from a month ago.
In the first eight months of this year, Turkey’s crude steel output amounted to 22.8 million tons, falling by 5.4% year on year.
