[Ferro-Alloys.com] Brazilian production of copper wires and cables is to rise 2.5-2.6% by the end of 2013, while output of semi-finished products is to remain flat, according to the executive director of national copper products association, Sindicel, Valdemir Romero.
The South American country produced 247,000 tonnes of wires and cables in 2012. "This was considered a good year for conductors [with] civil construction, energy and the automobile industry reporting increases", said Romero. For semi-finished products, output stood at 143,000 tonnes last year. "
