Japan’s Iron Ore Imports Up by 16.2% M-O-M in July

Japan imported 12.09 million tons of iron ore in July, rising by 16.2% from a month ago and increasing by 20% year on year, according to data released by Japan's Ministry of Finance.
 
In July, Australia was the largest iron ore exporter to Japan with 7.79 million tons, rising by 18%; Brazil was the second largest one with 3.09 million tons, increasing by 10.5%, both compared to the figures in the same month of 2012.
 
In the first seven months of this year, the country’s iron ore imports amounted to 78.54 million tons, up by 3.06% year on year.
