The US Department of Commerce (DOC) issued its preliminary results of the administrative review of countervailing duty (CVD) order on corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products from Korea.
The Korean companies involved in this case are Dongbu Steel; Hyundai HYSCO; and Pohang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. / Pohang Coated Steel Co., Ltd. (Posco), covering the period of calendar year 2011.
It’s learned that the DOC calculated the subsidy margins of 0.1% to Dongbu Steel; 0.45% for Hyundai Hysco and 0.34% for Posco. All of these preliminary margins are de minimis.
Meanwhile, the current CVD duties for these companies are zero.
The DOC expected to complete the review by January, 2014 and the current CVD rate will remain effective until the DOC’s final determination is published in the Federal Register.
