According to data released by the Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl), Germany’s crude steel output totaled 3.2 million tons in August, falling by 6.3% year on year, caused by production half due to repair works.
In the first eight months of this year, the country’s crude steel production totaled 28.12 million tons, falling by 2.6% year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year, Germany’s production of hot rolled steel products totaled 21.65 million tons, down by 1.1% year on year.
Among them, 14.2 million tons were steel flat products, down by 1.9% and 7.46 million tons were steel long products, falling by 0.4%, both compared to those in the same period of 2012.
