France Steel Product Export Value Decrease in H1

[ferro-alloys.com]According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the H1 of 2013 France's basic steel product and ferroalloy exports amounted to a value of EUR 4.8 billion, decreasing by 11.1% YoY.

France's steel product and ferroalloy export value has been on a downtrend on YoY basis since August last year. Steel and ferroalloys ranked ninth in the H1 of 2013 the most exported products of the country, while the aerospace industry was the sector with the highest export value in the January to June period with EIR 216 billion.

However, the country's motor vehicle exports amounted to EUR 11.86 billion in the H1, decreasing by 9.3% YoY.

During the period in question, France exported EUR 1 billion of steel pipes and tubes down 3.45%, EUR 255 million of cold rolled steel strip up 3.9%, EUR 194 million of cold drawn wire down 8.1%, EUR 173 million of cold rolled steel bars down 18.6%, EUR 278 million of metal structures and parts down 17.6%, all compared to January to June 2012.

Meanwhile, in the H1 of 2013 France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports totaled EUR 4.5 bi down 10.9% ion.
