[Ferro-Alloys.com]The Tenke Fungurume copper/cobalt project, owned 56% by Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold, produced and sold 5-million lb of cobalt in the second quarter compared to production and sales of 6-million lb in the year-ago quarter. The average realized sales price was $8.48 per lb in the second quarter compared to $8.24 in the second quarter of 2012. Production and sales in the first six months were 11-million lb compared to production of 12-million lb and sales of 11-million lb in the first half of 2012. The average realized sales price fell to $7.99 per lb in the first half of 2013 compared to $8.40 in the year-ago period. Freeport projects that cobalt production will be 24-million lb in 2013 compared to production of 25-million lb in 2012.
