[Ferro-Alloys.com] Copper prices drifted lower on the London Metal Exchange on Thursday July 18, as the market’s attention remained fixed on testimony from Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke.
Three-month copper settled at $6,885/87 per tonne on Thursday, down from $6,906 at the start of the day and 0.8% below the previous official price. The red metal traded in a $68 range throughout the day, with moves in either direction capped ahead of Bernanke’s second appearance before the US Senate later on Thursday.
