South African Kumba’s Iron Ore Output Rises by 4% in 2012

[Ferro-Alloys.com]Kumba Iron Ore, South Africa's largest iron ore manufacturer produced 43.1 million tons of iron ore in 2012, growing by 4% from a year ago.
 
The company stated that the excellent performance at its new Kolomela mine boosted its total iron ore output in 2012. The production at Kolomela mine totaled 8.5 million tons in 2012.
 
In 2012, Kumba’s exported 39.7 million tons of iron ore, rising by 7% year on year, driven by strong demand from Asian markets, especially China.
