Print[Ferro-Alloys.com]Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold produced and sold 6-million lb of cobalt at its 56%-owned Tenke Fungurume copper/cobalt mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the fourth quarter of 2012 compared to production of 7-million lb and sales of 6-million lb in the fourth quarter of 2011.
The average realized sales price fell to $6.95 in the fourth quarter compared to $8.78 in the year-ago quarter.
In 2012, production at Tenke was 26-million lb compared to 25-million lb in 2011 and sales were 25-million lb, the same as in 2011. The average realized price per lb fell to $7.83 per lb in 2012 compared to $9.99 in 2011.
