[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to report, Australian miner BHP Billiton said that it planned a 50% growth at its coal production in Queensland in two years.
The capacity will be increased to 66 million tons from current 44 million tons by the end of June 30th, 2012. The company plans to reach the target by the end of 2014.
BHP Billiton will also focus on cost cutting since the global commodity prices was lower. It has closed two unprofitable mines in Queensland this year.
