[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to Latin America Steel Association (Alacero), China is increasing its exports of steel product to the world, including Latin America.
Alacero’s data shows that China exported 23.1 million tons of rolled steel in the first half of this year, a 12% up than same period in 2011.
Among them, 2 million tons were shipped to Latin America, jumping by 28.4% from that in the same period of last year.
Alacero believes that Chinese steel industry is facing weak domestic demand with low prices. Therefore, the production excess is expected to be exported, especially toward to Latin America.
