Japan’s Stainless Steel Imports Fall by 18% m-o-m in August

[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to statistics released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan imported 12,400 tons of stainless steel products in August, falling by 18% from a month ago.

In August, the country’s imports of stainless steel products from South Korea decreased by 14.6%; that from Taiwan decreased by 31.7%; that from China dropped by 35.1%, all compared to that in a month earlier.

Meanwhile, the import revenues generated by stainless steel products totaled US$45.60 million in August and the average prices were at US$3,682.01/ton, up by 0.8% month on month.
