[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, the country’s export volumes of iron ore in September this year totaled 27.7 million tons, increasing by 0.5% from a month ago and decreasing by 7.9% year on year.
However, the country’s export values generated by iron ore totaled US$2.4 billion in the given month, falling by 11.8% compared to the August 2012 and slumping by 40.4% versus the same month in 2011.
Meanwhile, Brazil's export volume on semi-finished products of iron and steel totaled 475,563 tons, slightly improving by 2.9% from the previous month but down by 18.7% compared to the same month in 2011.
The value of these exports totaled USD270.2 million, falling by 2.8% from August 2012 and decreasing by 27.4% compared to August 2011.
