[Ferro-Alloys.com]It is reported that the Specialty Steel Industry of North America (SSINA) currently express its concern on the surged imports of grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) in 2012, especially from Japan, South Korea, Poland and Russia.
Based on the data through July 2012 and the preliminary data for August and September released by the US government, the country’s GOES imports from the four countries jumped by 32% year on year, according to counsel David A. Hartquist, international trade lawyer and a partner at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP.
Also, the average unit values are quite low, reflecting the fact that it’s possible that those imports might be dumped with below-cost sales into the US market.
