UAE Steelmakers urge Government to revoke Duty-free Policy on Rebar Imports

[Ferro-Alloys.com]It’s reported that the steelmakers in the UAE urged the government to revoke the duty-free policy on rebar imports in order to ensure the fair competition and stabilize the domestic market.
 
Moreover, the Emirate Steel requested the government to impose 5% of import duty on steel imports.
 
It’s known that the some local steel producers in UAE are allowed to enjoy duty-free importing certain rebar, forcing some steelmakers to cut prices to gain orders.
