Cobalt prices continue to depend heavily on grade. Russian cobalt has been obtaining a premium over prices for Kasese, Katanga and Mopani cobalt. Traders said they had sold K1AY in the upper $17s per lb. A few select consumers are able to buy central African cobalt at $16-16.40 per lb, but others are paying up to $18. Traders admit that there is little buying interest in Falconbridge grade cobalt.
