PrintOn the China Ferro-Alloys International Conference which was held on May 28th-30th, 2010 in Shanghai, Qi Xiangdong, Deputy Secretary-General and Chief Analyst of China Iron and Steel Association made a speech about China’s Steels Industry Development and Market Trend.
First of all, Mr. Qi summarized five major characteristics for the trend of steel industry during Jan-April.
1. Steel production and consumption increased greatly
2. Net import of rolled steel increased
3. Slab band volume increased in during Jan-April in 2010
4. International and China’s steel prices increasing
5. Large and medium mills profit recovered
Then Mr. Qi gave an outlook on China’s steel industry in 2010. He said that global economy is recovering, and the steel development improved too. Chinese steel mills should pay more attention to the changing market and try our best to do the export and import business. Qi also said that we should put the cost reduction in the first priority.
