It is reported that the heavy plate plant of Baosteel Iron & Steel Co Ltd lately started to produce 2H, 2Y and 2W heavy plates for off-shore platform structure according to American Petroleum Institute standards.

Recently, Baosteel won API permit to be the only steelmaker in China, whose products can cover all the three grades of steels for offshore platform under API’s standards.

Steels for off-shore platform are expected to have big market in the world. API’s permit endues Baosteel with the quality to lead domestic market.
