Affected by poor market demand, domestic silicon manganese price keeps slipping. It is said that silicon manganese 6014# price dropped to RMB9,000-9,200/mt in Guangxi, RMB9,300/mt in Guizhou. In northern areas, 6517# price from RMB13,500/mt to RMB13,000/mt.             

 

On the one hand, many steel mills cut down their purchase price on silicon manganese for slim market; On the other hand, oversupply and keen competition to some extent impact on domestic silicon manganese price.              

 

In addition, Coke in Shanxi price drops by 5% which could ease pressure of silicon manganese producers. Furthermore, dropping ore price stimulates manganese alloys price down continuously. However, many factories produce silicon manganese with the third quarter ore. What’s more, power price is still high, so most silicon manganese producers indicated that it is hard to endure its price further down.
