Japan’s nickel ore imports totaled 392,064 tons in August, decreasing by 18.2% from a month ago an falling by 4.9% year on year, according to data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance.
In the first eight months of this year, the country’s nickel ore imports amounted to 3.3 million tons, soaring by 13.5% year on year.
In the given period of time, the country’s nickel ore imports from Indonesia totaled 1.7 million tons, rising by 26.9%; those from the Philippines totaled 968,244 tons, falling by 5.5%, both compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago.
