Brazil's August Nickel Production Shoots Up

It is reported that according to the Brazilian Institute of Non-ferrous Metals (ICZ), Brazilian nickel production in August came at 6,473 tons.
 
This figure is an increase of 12% versus July and 26.7% when compared to August 2012.
 
In the first 7 months of 2013, Brazil's nickel production came to 45,090 tons, which is a 2.16% increase year on year.
 
Brazil exported 4,240mt of nickel in August and for the year Brazil exported 31,564 tons of nickel up until end August, this is an increase of 4% year on year.
 
Local consumption of nickel in August is reported to be 1,566 tons, which included imports while consumption for Jan-Aug is at 12,516 tons.
