Print[Ferro-alloys.com] Premier Li Keqiang of China invited some academiciansoftheChineseAcademyofSciencesandChineseAcademyofEngineering to Zhongnanhai and discussed urbanization with them recently.
Experts of the Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese Academy of Engineering had studied urbanization deeply for more than one year and staged achievement had been acquired. According to their sample survey, the new generation of migrant workers was generally reluctant to farm. They would rather work and live in the city. Urbanization was an irreversible trend. Premier Li pointed out that industrialization & urbanization was the only way to achieve socialist modernization. For a large country with a population of 1.3 billion, urbanization was more difficult. We must realize this was a long-term historical task and promote this cause steadily.
Li stressed urbanization was a complicated system engineer that required broad advice, scientific reasoning and careful planning. The government should focus on key areas where consensus has formed such as shantytowns transformation and promote urbanization step by step.
