[ferro-alloys.com] In the former half year,2013, the Ningxia CIQ all inspected 46,000 tons of ferroalloys exports, valued 63.44 million dollar, which lowered inspectively26.7% and 31.1% Y-O-Y.

 

Since the 2012 year, the amount and value of ferroalloys both dropped. Besides, this trend might become stronger. The main reasons included the following points, the firstly, the steel and iron market lasted the downward trend, which made bad effects on the ferroalloys industries. The secondly, the exports tariff of ferroalloys was relatively high. So far the tariff of FeSI and rare earth ferroalloys was 25% .And the most ferroalloys was 20%. The thirdly, the ferroalloys smuggling activities disturbed seriously the normal exports order. The lastly, our layer of structure was low level. The common FeSi accounts for 95% of the total volume. And this kind of products was facing the drastic competition in the international market.

 

The latest data shows that there were only quarter enterprises to maintain production in the 40 enterprises, the other all closed down or switched to the other production. It was worth nothing that some complex alloys such as MgSi ,BaSi etc. had presented their price advantage. Therefore, the CIQ suggested that the ferroalloys industries should strength the intensity of transformation and upgrading, exploited the new productions as the special alloys and enhanced the technology content and added value to promote healthy and sustainable development of the ferroalloys industries.
