[Ferro-alloys.com] The US imported 76,825.3 mt of 55-80% ferrosilicon in the first five months of 2013 and 24,510 mt in May vs. 119,207.4 mt and 28,719.9 mt, respectively, in the same 2012 periods. The major suppliers in May (first five months in parentheses) were: Russia, 16,818.2 mt (40,408.9 mt); Venezuela, 4,150 mt (13,421.2 mt); China, 1,057.3 mt (9,758.9 mt) and Canada, 920.4 mt (5,767.9). Imports from Brazil in May jumped to 908.5 mt (1,140.2 mt in the first five months of 2013) while Norway supplied 86.2 mt in May and 369.5 mt in the first five months of 2013.
